The California Transparency in Supply Chains Act of 2010
The California Transparency in Supply Chains Act of 2010 recently became applicable to Robertson’s Ready Mix, Ltd. The Act requires public disclosures regarding companies’ efforts to eradicate slavery and human trafficking from their direct supply chains for tangible goods.
The majority of the raw materials we use to manufacture concrete are produced at our mining facilities in California in strict compliance with all state and federal employment laws. Altogether, more than 99% of the raw materials contained in our finished products are obtained from suppliers and sources produced and located in the United States.
Robertson’s Ready Mix, Ltd. currently does not have a formal program in place to address the eradication of slavery and human trafficking. Robertson’s Ready Mix, Ltd. is currently evaluating the following components with respect to developing a program to address this important issue:
- Verification of product supply chains;
- Audits of suppliers;
- Certification of direct suppliers;
- Development of internal accountability standards; and
- Training for employees responsible for supply chain management.
